This match is shot over four ranges, 300, 600, 900 & 1000 yards and it is usual to start at 300 yards and move backwards. In order to circumvent restrictions in target availability, however, it was necessary to do the long range shoots in the morning and the shorts in the afternoon. Six of us were present but Tim Bourne had an inflamed elbow and sensibly decided not to shoot. He was very effective, however, in the coaching department. The availability in other teams determined that the match would be decided by teams of three.
The weather was, and remained so throughout the day, chilly for June, due largely to a fairly strong and very challenging wind. We were, on the other hand, fortunate indeed to find the only dry day in a lengthy period of wet and showery weather in the South East. The results are :
