Despite some apprehension that there might not be enough support for this shoot, seven OCs turned up on the hottest day of the year so far. With the not entirely comfortable temperature we enjoyed a gentle to medium wind that caught some of us out from time to time.
Tim Bourne was well ahead of the field with 97.6; the rest were around the (very) low 90s, although Tim Cross scored 49.5, overall the best shoot of the day, at 900 yards.
For most of the afternoon we entertained some visitors. These roe deer grazed happily just in front of the 800 yard firing point oblivious to the crack of the bullets passing overhead.
