The format for this match was two short ranges in the morning, 300 and 600 yards, and two long ranges, 900 and 1000yards, in the afternoon. Also, this was the first outing of the season for which the weather forecasters were foretelling a high probability of some rain; the morning stayed fine enough, but in the afternoon it rained steadily, and at times heavily, from soon after the start to the end. There was also a significant east wind.
We turned up with six, which did not include at least a couple of our best shots, and the five scores that went forward for our team total were the best five: with limited choice it is harder to get things wrong. The results are:
Old Framlinghamians “A” | 972.109 |
Bedfordians | 971.104 |
Old Lawrentians | 915.68 |
Old Cranleighans | 911.63 |
Old Framlinghamians “B” | 910.67 |
Lancing Old Boys | 902.65 |
Old Alleynians | 832.45 |
